Where to go

Post by Captain Kirk »

Discovered that my previous regular eateries from 2012 have bitten the dust. Small cafe called Sea Fresh and also Papa David's place are no more I hear. Any up to date info on Jomtien places to go for full English breakfast and where is good for British type dishes. Nothing fancy just steak and chips, chicken fillet, fish and chips etc. Info much appreciated.

To my recollection, a fish and chip place opened in Jomtien Complex while I was there. It was nothing startling, is it still there?

I don't know of a specific fish and chip restaurant within Jomtien Complex, although some restaurants might serve it. A few hole-in-the-wall restaurants on the perimeter of the complex serve fish and chips. So does Fraser's and Shenanigan's.

You might also like the Pig & Whistle restaurant, also on the perimeter of the complex. See: http://www.pigandwhistlepattaya.com/restaurant.html They have an inexpensive fish & chips special on Fridays, although you can get fish & chips there any time. Plenty of pub food there too. Don't be confused by the location information on their web site. Believe me, you'll find it.

Fortunately for you, there is no shortage of English food restaurants in the Jomtien Complex area. When it comes to finding English food, you'll feel like you never left home. Many of these restaurants have their menus posted outside, but none will object if you go inside to have a look at their menu.

Do a Google search for "fish and chips jomtien" and several more restaurants will come up.

I remember the Pig and Whistle which was newly opened when I was last there. I think the fish and chip restaurant around Jomtien was the Golden Friar or something like that.

I'll have to give it a try.

Meanwhile, for people such as Captain Kirk who do not have their own transportation, I'm reminded of a poem by Jimmy Stewart, which he recited on the Johnny Carson Tonight Show. He was talking about a lake he enjoyed, Lake Baringo:

Lake Baringo is a body of water
Its surface is smooth as glass
But getting to Lake Baringo
Is a genuine pain in the ass
