An hour and a half . . .
I can't think of much, but I thought the way they handled the Covid crisis was quite effective. Other than that I'm drawing a blank.
An hour and a half . . .
None ?
They were reasonably effective at minimising reported covid deaths. However, the restrictions were kept in place for far too long & the tourism sector still hasn't recovered properly from that.
I agree. It's either that or it's too little, too late, which is exactly what happened with the Kuwaiti motorbike maniacs. I can't think of any reason that even begins to justify what has been going on. They knew from past behavior just what to expect, but did nothing proactive to prevent it. Their reactive efforts have been ineffective. What is the problem about putting enough police out there to stop this behavior?
They should mount another 200 police operation and move all offenders to the police station and keep them in detention for as long as it takes to sort out the fines, confiscated bikes, etc.
As a long standing resident, you will be able to tell me: When did the Pattaya authorities last fix anything properly ?
Gerefan is right, they haven't. To me that's the prime question: WHY haven't they? I just don't understand what the authorities gain, or think they gain, by tolerating it.
Invert the question. Why would they bother stopping it?
We don't even know if the police get paid off. But I believe something is rotten in Denmark. My thinking is the only reason there has been any action at all is because there has been so much pressure from media reports.
Well, we know the local police are fond of a bribe.
Apparently that's Shakespeare. The second biggest waste of time at my former school, a long way behind religion.
That doesn't mean bribery has anything to do with this problem. That makes zero sense to me and it is too simple an explanation.
