During Covid crisis, no driving licenses

Post by Gaybutton »

Nothing is said in the article about what to do if your current license is about to expire or if you are in need of a first time license. If you fall into that category I suggest asking both the police and your vehicle insurance company what to do.

I am guessing your license and insurance will remain valid until the licensing offices reopen, since this is no fault of your own, but you better check to make sure.

Department of Land Transport suspends some services until further notice, including training and testing for driver’s licenses

By Adam Judd

3 January, 2021

The Department of Land Transport has announced that in precaution of the Covid-19 situation in Thailand they have, effective immediately, suspended several in person services at their offices nationwide. This will be until further notice.

This includes training and testing for new driver’s licenses in person as well as tax related payments in person.

The DLT has also suggested to file paperwork and information online if possible at this time and that offices in high risk provinces (Including Chonburi) may have additional requirements, closures and rules. They have suggested for interested clients to contact their local transport office directly with questions.
