Thank you, but I see nothing new in the article.

Has anyone actually applied for that visa yet? From what I've heard, Pattaya immigration is still saying they know nothing about a 10-year visa.

An O-A is obtained from a Thai consulate for example, Los Angeles, where I got my original tourist visa and a friend got his O-A visa(for retirement).

If one is to believe this article 2 things come to mind: first if you already have a 1 year retirement visa must you leave the country to apply for the new proposed 5-10 year visa and are insurance companies offering a low cost adjunct to inpatient policies or a cheap policy to cover the 10,000 bht. that will cover the very small amount of outpatient coverage that appears to be an additional requirement?

Your monthly income must be min. 100000 baht or have for min. one year account with 3 Million Baht. The fee is 10000 baht for the visa. Only valid for aussies, Canada, China, Great Britain, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Netherlands, Taiwan and USA. And you must have health insurance covering 10000$/year. Good luck. I could get it but i dont Need it. Shortly before i was for a visit near Thai embassy and asked them.
