keeping character formatting from word

Post by christianpfc »

I sometimes prepare a post in Microsoft Word and format texts as bold or italic, but when I insert into the box for posting, the formatting is gone. When I tried this on Thaivisa, the formatting remains. What can I (or you, if others have this problem as well) do to be able to format text in word and post it without losing the formatting?

Does it have to be Microsoft Word? Can you try another text editor?

That's because the formatting for the board is a different kind of system. If you don't use the [whatever] [/whatever] formatting for the board, then the formatting is not going to appear. What I suggest you do is write your post using Microsoft Word, and then do your formatting after pasting it in to the posting box.

I circumvent the problem. For posting chats or dialogues, I wanted to use italic or bold for one person and standard text for the other person. But now I preceded every line with "He" or "Me". Italic or bold is easier to do in word, but I still would have to do it for every line. Whereas inserting "He" or "Me" can be done by find-replace.
