I think it's just a question of time. Sooner or later, whether the virus hits Pattaya or not, even if some of the precautions are overkill, I would much rather have to live with the overkill until this is over instead of chances being taken.

It must be extremely difficult for Thais who have lost their jobs and nearly as difficult for those who expect the axe to fall on them too.

I hope this won't cause the crime rate to go up.

I think it's a matter of time too. Tinnie's is voluntarily closing next week for I don't know how long. The covid-19 tracker link that I posted earlier shows 77 cases at Sattahip Naval Hospital and 5 in Rayong which all have Italy sources. That's too close.
