There is a push to remove Andrew Jackson's image from the US 20 dollar bill because he was a slave owner. Looking at it from the perspective of the times in which he lived, I think that's the wrong reason. In those times slave ownership was normal and few, other than the slaves themselves of course, thought anything was wrong with it.
President George Washington, on the US 1 dollar bill and the US 25 cent coin owned 123 slaves and more than 300 slaves were kept on his estate. His wife owned many of her own slaves too.
President Thomas Jefferson, on the US 2 dollar bill, owned over 600 slaves.
Alexander Hamilton, on the US 10 dollar bill, was not personally a slave owner, but he bought and sold slaves for his in-laws.
Should their images also be removed? Again, from the perspective of the times in which they lived, I believe they should be accepted for who they were within the norms of their times. If anyone said to them that slavery was wrong, they probably would have thought whoever said it had lost their minds.
Don't worry if you think I am wrong about it. I'm expecting backlash from this post. But I am entitled to my opinion and voicing it as you are entitled to yours.

Well, on that basis, if you remove one, you need to remove all four. And rename your capital city ?
Do that in the next four years and you know who is going on all the notes.
I think I agree with you.
The idea of paying compensation for slavery has also been floated. Totally ridiculous. Are we going to pay compensation to the DESCENDENTS of slaves ? For what, having to live in the US, rather than Africa ? When many Africans would be delighted to move to the US.

Good point. Also one of the states. And a great many street names, location names, city names, state capitals, etc.
Though their images are not on money, other presidents also owned slaves and have places named after them.
Even Benjamin Franklin owned 1 slave and profited by allowing advertising for slaves in the newspaper he owned.
Madison, Wisconsin - President James Madison owned over 100 slaves
Monroe, Louisiana - President James Monroe owned 75 slaves
Jackson, Mississippi - already mentioned
President Martin Van Buren - owned 1 slave
President William Henry Harrison - owned 11 slaves
President John Tyler - owned 29 slaves
President James K. Polk - owned 56 slaves
President Zachary Taylor - owned 300 slaves
President Andrew Johnson - Abraham Lincoln's Vice President, became President upon Lincoln Assassination - owned 9 slaves
President Ulysses S. Grant - General of the Union Army of the Civil War - between he and his wife - owned 5 slaves
That's 12 Presidents who owned slaves
President Donald J. Trump - currently owns 298 slaves - the total number of Republicans in the House, the Senate, and state governors . . .
