Are you really going to do that? When boys have made the same kind of deal with me, which I rarely do, but when I do it is a boy I really like and want to see again. I never actually deduct anything. I give him the full amount and let him enjoy the bonus.

Re: Boys Requesting Money
The Cambodian boy that's constantly pestering me for money is probably encouraged by seeing the fat wedge his mate receives !
As for getting it back off the bar or the boy, that might work for a while, but neither have an AAA credit rating.
Re: Boys Requesting Money
Well maybe I’ll pay him the normal short time rate. But I’ll have him do extra that I usually pay more for. I’ll have him edge me for 45 minutes. I’m sure he’ll agree with this.
These boys have elephant memories. I once paid an older guy the going rate without trying to get it lower, like most do with the not so attractive boys. He remembered two years later the exact amount I gave him and really did well by me.
Re: Boys Requesting Money
They don’t work at the same bar but maybe your boy will find out. He’s in pattaya now.
I’m not going to let it upset me if he stiffs me. Small potatoes compared to the amount I wasted on the boy I had with me for five weeks. I cut my losses with him. I blocked him and he’s trying to get me to accept him under other guises. He was probably hoping I’d pay for him to come back to Thailand. Maybe I’ll rent an elephant for him, ha ha.
Re: Boys Requesting Money
I've just received the following from a Cambodian boy I know who has just returned home from Pattaya.
"Hello, How are you?
Can I borrow 2000 baht from you? I live in Cambodia and I don't have any money to spend. I don't have a job in Cambodia."
Obviously the idea that he'd ever repay the money is nonsense but it is the first time I've had a request for money described as a "loan".

I get that quite frequently. Forget about it being a loan. If you send money to these boys, Thai, Cambodian, or wherever, whether they call it a loan or not, it's not a loan. It's a "give".

Nowadays I get money request so rarely that it's not worth talking about, but here is a recent one, cause is the current border conflict:
"Yes now me live In Cambodia But I have no job and no money. Can you help me now?"

Re: Boys Requesting Money
I got one just a couple hours before this post. He wanted 2000 baht, which he swore he would pay back tomorrow.
3 guesses whether he got as much as one baht out of me . . .

Re: Boys Requesting Money
Just for sport, you could ask him for collateral. Which won't be an issue if he's really going to pay you back.
The last time I had a "loan" request was from a bar boy wanting to buy his brother an iPhone for his birthday. His brother was at University back in Laos, allegedly partly supported by the bar boy.
Buying expensive gifts for his brother was not my idea of a good use of my money. I told him I don't do loans and he hasn't asked since.
Apparently his brother has now graduated and doesn't have much to do with him any more.
The strangest request I had was from a lad who allegedly had some technical difficult getting to his money in some crypto trading app. He seemed to have no interest in my suggestions for solving the problem & I suspect he was really fishing for a donation. Without success.

Re: Boys Requesting Money
I have actually had money boys offer collateral, at least their idea of collateral. You know what it was? Free sex. The first time I received that offer was many years ago when I was still naive about how things work in Thailand. I gave him the money. You get to guess whether I ever got the "collateral" or whether I ever heard from him again.
I have had that kind of "collateral" offer several times over the years. You also get to guess whether I ever accepted that "collateral" offer again . . .
