I am posting this less than one hour since the bombing was announced. Now that Trump has used the big bomb to destroy the most well protected nuclear facilities, my first question is Did it? Did it work? Did the bombing actually destroy those facilities? That remains to be seen.

That is one of the critical questions.

Also, was the enriched uranium still at the sites attacked ? Moving it would have been an obvious tactic. Preferably at night, or when there was cloud cover.

Awww, ain't that a shame? Trump didn't get the Nobel Peace Prize - and that blow came recently after finding out there is not enough room on Mt. Rushmore for him to join the ranks of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln.

White House blasts Nobel Committee for not awarding Peace Prize to Trump

by Kayla Epstein

October 11, 2025

The White House has accused the Nobel Committee of placing "politics over peace" for awarding its most coveted prize to a Venezuelan pro-democracy activist over US President Donald Trump.

On Friday, the Committee announced María Corina Machado would receive the Peace Prize for her "tireless work promoting democratic rights for the people of Venezuela".

Trump has been outspoken about his desire for the award, taking credit for ending several global conflicts. He regularly brought it up, including during his address to the UN General Assembly in September.

He called Machado to congratulate her and say she deserved the award, a senior White House official told CBS, the BBC's US media partner.

"The Nobel Committee proved they place politics over peace," White House communications director Steven Cheung said after the announcement on Friday morning.

"President Trump will continue making peace deals, ending wars, and saving lives," Cheung wrote on X. "He has the heart of a humanitarian, and there will never be anyone like him who can move mountains with the sheer force of his will."

Trump has played a significant role in forcing a multi-stage deal for a ceasefire in Gaza, which was announced two days before the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded.

The president has also asserted that he ended numerous global conflicts during his nine months in office, and in his previous term.

Following the announcement of the ceasefire deal in Gaza, Trump declared: "BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS." The White House called him "the peace president".

Trump's ambitions for a Nobel Peace Prize are well known, and mentioning his name for the award has become common among leaders seeking to advance diplomatic interests with the US.

Many foreign leaders, including Israel's prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, have publicly argued that Trump deserves the prestigious honour.

Asked by reporters to react to the Nobel Prize, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Trump was doing a lot to resolve complex crises.

"Thank you to President Putin!" Trump wrote on Truth Social on Friday alongside a video of Putin saying "this award has lost credibility".

Machado herself praised Trump on X following her win, writing that "I dedicate this prize to the suffering people of Venezuela and to President Trump for his decisive support of our cause!"

Trump reshared Machado's message on his Truth Social platform.

But despite the lobbying, Trump faced hurdles this year.

Nominations for the Nobel Peace Prize close on 31 January of each year, according to the awards website, just days after Trump took office.

The Nobel Committee meets between February and September to whittle down the list of nominees.

Marco Rubio, now Trump's secretary of state, was among a group of Congress members who nominated Machado for the prize in August 2024, while he was still a US senator.

It is not clear what achievement Trump would have secured for this year.

Russia's war with Ukraine continues to rage, despite Trump's demands that both Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Putin broker an end to the bloodshed.

The ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas is a significant development, but it is still in its initial stage.

In his second term, Trump has pursued an "America-first" policy, dramatically reshaping its place in the global economy and diplomatic stage.

Weeks into taking office, his then-advisor Elon Musk oversaw the dismantling of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), which provided humanitarian assistance throughout the world.

The Nobel Committee awards the Peace Prize to leaders who champion "arms control and disarmament, peace negotiation, democracy and human rights, and work aimed at creating a better organized and more peaceful world," according to its website.

Trump's mass deportation policies have sparked protests across the US and drawn criticism from immigrant rights and humanitarian groups.

Trump's attempt to use National Guard troops to patrol US cities for the stated intent of controlling violence and crime has raised alarm from Democrats and rebukes from federal judges over his use of the military on domestic soil.

Four US presidents have received the Nobel Peace Prize: Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, Jimmy Carter, and Barack Obama.

Only Obama won the prize while in office.

If the idiot (I can't stand even saying his name) would have won the Nobel Prize I would have lost all faith in mankind. It would probably have been one of the most depressing moments of my life.

The real losers here are the Palestinians, because now, after not winning the Nobel Prize, the Idiot will almost certainly lose any/all interest in stopping the war in Gaza. Hell, the Plan that he forced Netanyahu to agree to has nothing but blank pages behind Phase One - which of course involves a TEMPORARY ceasefire and the release of the Israeli prisoners. All staged by the Idiot and Netanyahu to occur right when the Nobel Committee was selecting this years laureate.

I have a feeling that Hamas is going to refuse to disarm, which has been their red-line from the beginning, and eventually the genocide will commence again. I hope this doesn't happen for the Palestinians sake, but it looks like that's a real possibility. The Idiot will be disengaged by then - and Netanyahu will jump at the chance to avoid prosecution for war crimes and save his job.

Putin said he thought the Idiot should have been awarded the Nobel prize. What does that tell you?

Unfortunately it tells me there's always next year.

I am not aware of any Nobel Peace Prize winners or any other Nobel Prize categories that were ever awarded to someone who campaigned to get it.

I know.

I used to think the Idiot was just "stupid and appalling", now I think, and I mean this sincerely, that he's "clinically insane".

How about RFK Jr., another one of the Idiots sensational cabinet picks, who's now telling everyone that circumcision causes autism...and the Idiot believes him. Last week it was Tylenol...LOL. This shit just never ends.

Oh brilliant! Then I guess every Jewish male must be autistic . . .

I'm glad I'm living half a world away from all that nonsense. I've said it many times - the country I grew up in no longer exists. Thailand has its share of problems, but nothing like what's happening in the USA. I'm going to stay in Thailand as long as they'll have me. I have no desire to return to the USA even for a visit - but if I ever do, I hope it'll be New York where I'll head straight for Katz's Deli . . .

I'm with Donald Trump on this one. It's about time someone started going after the BBC for their left wing bias & distorted reporting.
Which many regard as totally unacceptable for a taxpayer funded organisation.
