I give a damn only in so far that I'd expect an old customer to be treated with some degree of respect.

I'd guess that they've emailed those who have made a booking for after Oct 1 with the hotel directly. So maybe those of you who haven't received an email used a third-party site such as Expedia or Agoda to book? Just a guess.

The old TP website (tarntawan.com) now up and working. It appears to be identical in all details (even continues to show affiliation with Moana).

Rates in THB for mid-December (including tax and service):
Rear-facing rooms 2620
Front-facing rooms 3400
Suite 4800

Checking Agoda for same dates (rates in THB plus 17% tax and service):
Rear-facing rooms 2829 to 3398
(no other rooms listed)

Posting on GT board from guest reporting full breakfast crowd said to be Asian tour group members

If these prices are correct, it must be one of Bangkok's most overpriced properties for what it offers.

Agreed; I was happy to pay their prices because the staff were exceptional. I had no illusions about the hotel's standards in other respects.

Reports by guests are beginning to trickle in on the boards. A recent review on Agoda (posted Oct. 15) by a guest from NZ following a seven-day stay provides some interesting feedback.

I think we would all appreciate it if you would include links to those reports in your posts.
