Best Burgers in Bangkok
Re: Best Burgers in Bangkok
Surprised that my favorite burger place wasn't mentioned. The Roadhouse Barbecue (corner Rama 4 and Surawong, next to Jim Thompson's) serves IMO the best burger in BKK and beyond. The beef is freshly-ground Australian, the fries cut fresh and not frozen, the special Thai-style cole slaw (no mayo) is excellent. Although you can choose from a wide variety of items from steaks to flatbread pizzas, I always weaken and opt for the burger with bacon.
Make no mistake, this is not fast food and not for those on a tight budget. But if you want a truly satisfying beef experience, you can't go wrong. The staff, many of whom have been there since my first visit, are great and the atmosphere reflects exactly what the name implies.

Re: Best Burgers in Bangkok
It's just a foodpanda promotion, take it with a grain of salt. Though, I do like the foodpanda delivery service.
I guess we all have different tastes and I don't like the Roadhouse at all. They advertise themselves serving authentic American food but misses the mark in my bias opinion. I don't like the hard chairs, oversized menu and It's been my experience over several visits to have had poor service. On each visit the food was not hot enough for me, almost room temperature, in spite of anticipating this and asking for hot food. They used to have a corned beef dinner on Wednesdays that I really liked but it was discontinued. They have a good on-tap beer selection.
I've given up on the Roadhouse and have moved over to the near by 'Smokin Pug'. The food is real southern American BBQ. The only problem is I am not the only one that knows that this is the best BBQ in Bangkok and it's not easy to get a seat. They have burgers too but I have not tried one but they look very good. I generally go with the pulled pork or ribs. It's a small place, too dark and sometimes too noisy but the food makes it all worth it.

The Firehouse used to be one of my favorite places for burgers but there was a change of ownership and things went downhill. I must not be alone with that opinion as it used to be hard to get a seat and now the place is often quite sparse of customers. It's not bad, just not as good as it was under the original owner.
The article also skipped https://bourbonstbkk.com/ and they do a huge Foodpanda business. If you sit by the side door you can see Foodpanda motorbikes are coming and going all evening. They have a good burger as well as other food. Recently they started an all day breakfast.

Re: Best Burgers in Bangkok
I went to The Rooadhouse about 3yrs ago the only thing I remember was that I was in no hurry to return. Pattaya had a good barbeque place called "The Great American Rib Co.".......It couldn't survive in Pattaya but was happy to see they also have a location in BKK: http://www.greatrib.com/menu/

Yes, Roadhouse is dreadful. They have a service charge automatically added to the bill, so I imagine that's why the service is so bad. No motivation.
Smokin Pug' is very good, but you need to make reservations to get a good seat, otherwise you're likely to end up eating at the bar, depending on when you go. I would easily go there again, with or without reservations.

I've been there twice. Without a reservation you'll be lucky to even get a seat at the bar. My suggestion is if anyone is going without a reservation, have a "Plan B" ready because your chances of getting a seat at all are not good.thaiworthy wrote:otherwise you're likely to end up eating at the bar, depending on when you go.

I ate at the Roadhouse several months ago and it was nothing memorable. Sorry to hear the news about the Firehouse as I thought they served a truly delicious burger. I will have to try the Smokin Pug.

The Firehouse is not "bad" it's just not as good (or the same) as it was when it first open. They have other items besides burgers on the menu that are still good.
A lot of people still like it but I notice it's mostly non Americans on the first few pages of Trip Advisor.
