It would be about time for some reform in the alcohol brewing sector
Very few countries restrict alcohol production to a few big brewers, like Thailand seems to.
In many, there are numerous small businesses brewing beer and that leads to an excellent choice of craft beers. The last 5 EU countries I visited all have several locally brewed "IPA" style beers and the taste is very good.
I recently read of one Thai who wanted to start a brewery, so off he went to Laos to do that, as it's easier to brew there and export to Thailand than start up in Thailand.
Governments should promote competition, not restrict it so that their chums at certain enterprises benefit.
