Without all the gobbledygook, as of October 1, the highly popular voice communication and text messaging app, LINE, will become LY due to a merger with the parent company.
The logo probably will change, but nothing else about the app is expected to change. You should not lose your ID, your contacts list, your saved messages, or anything else about LINE and the app is expected to remain free of charge.

I have used LINE several times both on October 1 and today, October 2, as well. I notice no difference whatsoever. And so far the LINE logo is still used.

I see no need for this silly rebranding. Why change what works ? Why force customers to change their websites & signs ?
Mind you, KY seems to be better known in Thailand than the English word "lubricant". So perhaps two letter branding like LY could catch on.

What is the source of your original report ?
Are you sure it this is supposed to be a rebrand of the consumer facing site, rather than a change of the corporate name ? As we have seen at the likes of Google or Facebook.
