I used to do it from the other side (the stem with the green leaves), then I did like they show it on the market, will try the method in the article as well.
Useless information I read elsewhere on the internet (forget where): When you look at the side opposite the stem, it looks like a small brown flower. The number of petals of the flower is equivalent the number of segments in the mangosteen. I counted for about 50, it was always true. About 90% have 6 petals/segments, 5% have 5, 5% have 7.
