Re: Past memories
Beanie and Cecil? Don't have a clue there (but I did recognize every other entry in your list). Had you mentioned Howdy Doodie, you'd have fully taken me back to the 50's....hehe.
Re: Past memories
Yup, they all sparked a memory. My sister had the Chatty Cathy, but I was fascinated by the little records you put into the mechanism to make it talk.
If you remember things on this list you probably also remember Telly Savalas in the Twilight Zone episode about Talking Tina.

I must have had a gap in my youth as (even having just watched a YouTube video of that cartoon show) I have zero recollection of ever seeing it. Maybe it was before my time.....RichLB wrote:How could you forget the Leakin Lena and Dishonest John (from the Beanie and Cecil Show)Bob wrote:Beanie and Cecil? Marbles, Yo-Yos, Kites, Knickers. Prancing around the May Pole, and even outdoor toilets at the Buck Street School.

Tying a board to the front of a fire hydrant and opening the hydrant causing a nice cooling spray to play in. That is, until the police came and turned it off.
Living without air conditioning.
Movies were the place to go to cool off spending about 5 hours watching previews, cartoons, newsreel and two movies. Best 14 cents value of a lifetime.
