My boyfriend knows exactly what I get up to. He just draws the line at boys less than half his age occupying the room, bed etc that he will later. Hence my use of short time rooms. It's an arrangement that has worked for 27 years.
First and foremost, "Congratulations" on your 27 year relationship.

My relationship has evolved into being monogamous as it took a little time to land my helicopter - not by any formal agreement on our part - we've never even talked about it - just the way it's formed over time (+10 years) and we couldn't be happier. Our feelings towards each other are unconditional, as is the mutual trust that we've developed during this majic carpet ride. We don't play that "jealousy game" either.

The fact that you respect his wishes is another example of "Greng Jai". You're the one doing it for him.

Your Place, Jomtien
I'm sat with a cute Cambodian lad. He doesn't speak much English and gets some dodgy translations from google.
My lad only met me as he's cute and wanders around the bar looking for customers.
The other lads at the bar seem fond of sitting at the front of their bar on their phones.

He briefly mentions having trouble finding the money for his rent.
I ask him how many boys are working at the bar. He counts seven. I ask him how many are sat with customers. He smiles when he realises he's the only one.

I tell him to keep doing this. With various tips from me, he's since had enough from me to cover the expenses mentioned. How the money was actually spent is unknown.

The other lads are also fairly cute. One looks like he's from Japan or Korea, but I'm told he's from Myanmar.

.......I always tell the boys I off that I have a Thai boyfriend.
I used to tell the boys I offed the same thing even when I didn't have a boyfriend...works like a charm...555.

I learned a long time ago that it's not WHAT YOU DO that matters so much - it's WHO YOU ARE.

If you're honest, jai dee (thoughtful), generous, fun to be with, and treat them with them respect, it's all downhill after that and the world's your oyster.

Most farang I know fall in this category, but unfortunately there's always that one idiot who thinks he's bargaining for livestock at a farm auction with a calculator in his hand who turns the boys sour.

After 27 years in a successful relationship you certainly don't need any advice from me. I can only hope to be as fortunate.

That is a standard line I've been hearing ever since my first trip to Thailand - and one I won't listen to or sympathize with.

In all my years in Thailand, I have never seen any of these boys actually lose his room. Not once. Not ever.

The fact that I've never seen it happen doesn't mean it never does, but I can only say I've never seen it happen and never heard that it ever did - not to any of them.

I don't waste time on that either.
In this instance, asking him how many lads in the bar were sat with a customer worked well. He seemed to quite enjoy the indirect reminder that he's currently earning more than any of the other cute lads in the bar.

Thanks to a language barrier, he was spared the lesson on budgeting. Which is probably just as well.

Elsewhere in this thread, we still see repetitive comments about the tipping habits of others.

I'm also aware of some customers tipping several hundred baht less than I do.
Firstly, that's none of my damn business.
Secondly, even that is infinitely more than the boys get from those who stopped offing lads years ago (but still have the most to say on the topic).
Thirdly, at least some of the top performing lads do tell me about turning down customers who did not offer enough. The good lads can do that. This seems fair.

These days, for any first time meeting, boys ask what tip they're going to get in advance and are very capable of looking after themselves.
After all, they're the ones with enough initiative to go and work in a foreign country at a young age

NighBoys(sic)
Formerly Nice Boys.
My last off from here was on 21 Dec 2016.
I think my last visit to the bar was in Dec 2021.
So 2024 is the time for the triennial visit. I stopped to photograph the sign, which really does say NIGHBOYS. At this point, I noticed the music was far too loud. So I decided to defer the visit.
From what I hear, they charge 200 baht for a drink and the boys are in jeans.
I may verify that if the music is at a reasonable volume next time I pass by.

I did a brief walk to Walking Street without stopping anywhere. Windmill Gogo (ladies) has draught beer for 99 baht according to the signs outside. I'd imagine they're also not fobbing customers off with dancers in jeans on the stage.
There was a Ladyboy Bar, called "True Color"(sic).

Diamond Bar. Very quiet. However, this still provisionally has my "best bar in Sunee Plaza" award.

Sorry folks, but I decided to delete a few posts since a specific bar was singled out. I don't need to end up dealing with a lawsuit, so I thought t best to eliminate those posts.

I'm sorry if you disagree, but that was my decision.

You are incorrect Sir! Their two banners on the outside say "BOYS NIGHCLUB". Inside the bar there is a sign that says "Nightboy" however.

All bars in Sunee plaza except Winnerboys have removed their high hanging signs. As I had it explained to me it is because the bars margins are so low nowadays with few customers they have to cut corners on everything, and removing the signs spare them to pay the sign-tax that businesses in Thailand must pay.

Thank you for the correction.
Nighclub, or whatever, I'm past caring about that place.

I haven't offed a boy here for 8 years. Now, apparently they want 200 baht per drink to watch a "nighboy" in jeans.
This makes Bangkok gogos look like good value. 200 baht for a rough boy in jeans, or 350 to see cute lads in underwear at the former Screwboys premises? I would choose the latter
