Record rain storm in Pattaya - July 1, 2025

Post by Gaybutton »

More rain is expected this evening, July 2.

If you were caught up in it, I hope you thoroughly showered and disinfected yourself, especially legs and feet. I don't even want to think about what the flood waters were probably carrying.

That video starts on Soi Bukhao, if I'm not mistaken.
I've seen flooding at that exact location after a very short burst of rain & sheltered from the rain in that branch of Subway.
There are drains, but these are totally inadequate. Particularly when the authorities love covering as much of Pattaya as possible in concrete.

They did put some 2m diameter pipes in on second road. I wonder how that coped ?

Are the main roads still flooded?

I plan to be zipping around Patts tomorrow doing some shopping...chat with friends...pinching a few butts, etc., but don't want to ride my motorbike if it still looks like Venice.

Any update would be appreciated.

My response may be a little late because I was out and about myself this morning. There was no residual flooding anywhere I went, including Sukhumvit.

Unless another heavy rain occurs, you should not encounter any flooding.

I watched the storm from my hotel window as the driveway flooded. It was so bad that Nom couldn't go out for some food. Anything that stops Nom from eating has to be really bad.

I was surprised the following morning just how completely the water had gone.

It was dry as a bone today (July 4), but I wouldn't walk around barefooted for a while.
