Thammachat

A Thai friend and I tried it this afternoon. Fortunately the location is quite convenient for both of us. We both loved it. I'll either be back often or will be ordering for delivery often.
The food is excellent - well prepared, fast service, very generous portions, and inexpensive. We shared 4 menu items plus what we had to drink, and 1 take-away item - 655 baht total. Even if you're not a vegetarian I still highly recommend giving them a try. The restaurant is quite popular with Thais. We were there around 12:30pm (on Fridays - today is Friday - they close at 5:00pm) and most tables were full.

Thank you Jun for letting us know about this restaurant.

I'm glad you & your Thai friend enjoyed it.

As with many Thai vegetarian restaurants, they serve food in the morning & afternoon, but not the evening. I would not count on them being open until 5:00 pm.
They also close on random days. To avoid disappointment, I only go there if google maps shows some sign of current customer activity & that has been a reliable indicator so far.

I just select 3 dishes at the counter, plus rice. This is a bargain at 70 baht.

Other than Fridays they are open until 8:00pm. According to their own Facebook page they are open from 6:30am, even on Fridays. Also, while I was there I asked and they confirmed the hours. So that should not be a problem.

I'll soon be trying a delivery order. I will post about how the food quality held up once it arrives, although it should not take more than 10 minutes once the food is sent out to arrive at my location. Since you usually stay in Jomtien, much further from their location, obviously delivery will take longer. I suggest next time you're in Pattaya, give a delivery order a try. If you're pleased, your problem about being able to often eat their food is solved.

Looks like they have extended their hours.
Or perhaps I just got unlucky with various late afternoon visits to the point where I gave up.

If you want to know whether they are open or closed, all you have to do is look them up on Google Maps. With most venues, including Thammachat, Google Maps shows if they are open or closed. Of course, you also could simply call and ask.

Not exactly. Google Maps shows the regular opening hours.
However, like many Thai family businesses, the management are always on site when open. When they want a day off, they close. On random dates. Usually without updating the google maps times, which means we cannot rely on them.

For some of these out of the way restaurants, I now look for the google maps graph which shows whether the business is busy right now.
These days, I only go there if it shows some activity. That has proven to be a very reliable way to prevent wasted trips.

One business in Pattaya which does update google maps when they close for a few days is "Dose Yield Time" coffee shop, just to the east of third road.

In that case, when you're thinking about going or ordering, just call them or have your hotel call them.

My first visit to Thammachat on this trip.
Whilst the food is excellent, the young ladies serving need a kick up the butt. This time, I was ignored.
I tried a loud "Kaw tod krap". Followed by a "Tan ti ni krap".
A Thai lady showed up and asked a question, which was answered with the staff member barely turning around, as she continued to faff around with some greens.

Only after the Thai lady twice mentioned something about customers, "lukka", did they get around to serving.

Still, the food was worth it. If they opened in South Pattaya, or Jomtien, I would visit every day.

Oddly enough, the veggie restaurant near to the market in Nakluea is also called Thammachat.

Well, in Roman, one ends in a d and the other ends in a t. However, in Thai, which is what really counts, the spelling of both are identical.

There is no obvious connection between the two. The food is different, with the one in North Pattaya being better, but both are still good.
