Venue fires

Post by Gaybutton »

Has anyone noticed that these deadly venue fires usually start because of some sort of pyrotechnics? This latest tragic fire in Switzerland is now being reported as started because of sparklers placed in bottles. The one a few years ago in Sattahip started due to pyrotech use. Many others have also started for the same kind of reason.

I, for one, would immediately exit a venue using any form of pyrotechnics before the possibility of a fire. Maybe this latest incident will convince such venues not to ever again permit any form of pyrotech - no matter how entertaining they think it might be.

I'm just trying to remind myself to exit at the first sign of trouble, when all the youngsters are still videoing it.

An aversion to crowded places is probably helpful as well.

That is a good point and an important part of surviving such an incident. You want to make sure you're out well before panicked people are crowding the exists, making it impossible to get out in time.
