Re: A slight change for GB
By the way, when I said Omega 3 and Cod Liver oil, they are well known to lower the bad cholesterol, as they are fish based, salmon mackerel all that is good for you, and that came from my gut specialist in London, he recently said to me also to take Aloe Vera as when I had a scan on my tummy my pancreas was covered with, you know, and he couldn't see it. It certainly works, it loosens you up and no constipation, when he reviews me again hopefully it will be no "mess" round the pancreas, LOL. Gotta get that done before March, as I've just been redundant and my medical cover runs out then, so have to rely on the NHS!!!

Congratulations and thank you for sharing! Unfortunately, for a lot of us we need to get a shock-inducing diagnosis to wake up to eating properly. There IS hope for us all!

That is exactly what inspired me. When I was told I had fatty liver nearly to the point of cirrhosis, it made me realize I need to do something about it and make serious dietary changes -now.
Re: A slight change for GB
Pattaya has plenty of examples of what goes wrong from over eating.
Yesterday I observed a very fat middle aged farang dismount from a motorcycle and he ended up on his back in the middle of the road. Apparently unable to get up without assistance.
I'd have had some sympathy had he been over 80.
However he was probably around 50 and suffering from self inflicted obesity. So having such mobility problems is a matter of choice.

Not just over-eating, but eating the wrong food as well.
Eating right/mostly vegetables, daily rigorous exercise, and a stress-fee lifestyle works magic.

Re: A slight change for GB
I thought I'd give you an update on my progress. When I started this diet I weighed 111kg (245 lb). As of this morning, February 26, I now weigh 86kg (190 lb). My goal is 80kg (175 lb) and it looks like it is within reach. And I don't mind telling you that having lost 25kg (55 lb) by sticking to this diet - I think I've earned the right to brag about it.
My next appointment for the fibroscan liver check is Thursday, March 12. I will ask the doctor if he agrees with my weight goal and I will let you know the fibroscan results.
Once again, folks - believe me, if I can do it, rest assured you can do it. And I still give myself permission to go to a good farang restaurant - once every 2 or 3 weeks and eat whatever the hell I want - and I still lose weight. I hope those of you who could do with some weight loss will be able to brag about your loss too. It's not really very difficult.

Good going!
You might want to monitor your "Body Fat Content" for goal-setting purposes. You can use the calculator linked below if you want to give it a try.

Re: A slight change for GB
I will use it to see how its results compare to what my doctor tells me. I trust my doctor's judgment more than I trust something found on the internet. I think things like that are good for an approximation, but not more than that.
Re: A slight change for GB
I guess that works as long as your doctor isn't taking advice from the U.S. Secretary of Health & Human Services (RFK Jr.)
Seriously, I've always relied more on doing my own research on health topics in the "preventive mode". I know the doctors know more, but my goal is to never see them. You'd be surprised how much progressive and reliable information is out there.
Keep up the good work.
