.... and Jomtien Complex seems to have it over Sunee Plaza in spades these days.

Spent 3 or 4 days in Jomtien last week visiting a few friends and was quite astounded at the change in the Complex from even eight or so months since my last visit. The place was popping with an energy which was quite compelling. All the older places were still there and busy, but I would guesstimate there was at least ten new bars ... all busy. At the witching hour (I. E. around 10:30 ~ 11.00) the sittin' chairs of each bar had encroached out onto the soi and passing through the gauntlet was not particularly easy . . . in a good way. A Critical Mass of boys and customers seems to have been breached . . . In a good way.

It has been brought to my attention that most of the boys there are from Cambodia, but frankly, who cares? It's the New Energy which seems to have been found in Jomtien Complex which is most important for success.

All this fun-time action makes for a rather depressing Sunee.

Will it stay this way? Who knows. But I hope so, as the area deserves it, IMO.

There are some feeble attemps to revitalize Sunee however, this malaise has gone on a long time and I fear it is too late, certainly as compared to the great place it was years ago....If the shruken version of Boytown is not you thing and if the complex doesn't float your boat you are shit out of luck in Pattaya.

I was at Jomtien Complex tonight and yes, lots of energy. Mostly older farang sitting and drinking and sometimes engaging the staff and even some kissing . Took me a while to find a bar where the staff was able and willing to take care of a big problem which was troubling me. But yes, it was fun.

Things have changed by the sound of it. Not long ago energy was an item in short supply in the JC according to posts on this board; I got the impression it was a major achievement to rouse the boys from their hammocks to even turn up. Customers were almost ignored in some cases whilst any spare energy the boys could summon up was spent away from the falung (or falungs if the bar was unnnaturally busy) in a buffer zone behind the scenes. Not only is compelling energy back, now it seems kissing is too . . . whatever next?
