Including photos in your posts - new host sites
Re: Including photos in your posts - new host sites
I was about to shut the account, but some of my older photobucket photos still appear on another forum. I'm not sure what their cut off policy is.

Neither am I. After reading your post I checked the oldest post on this board, my own first post when I first opened this board in 2010. A post appearing on the second page contains an image. I checked the image and it is indeed a Photobucket image and still appears.Jun wrote:some of my older photobucket photos still appear on another forum.

On the basis of what happened to my pics, they are taking time to delete all. My more recent ones disappeared over about a 90 minute period - not all at once.

And thanks to GB for finding ways around this disgraceful photobucket action.Gaybutton wrote:A special "Thank You" goes to Fountainhall . . .
Just a brief note to remind everyone planning to replace posts with pics. GB can take the trouble of deleting the old ones. But it means posters then have to open their own new thread. It also means all follow-on posts on the original threads will be lost. Not a problem for many of the threads but if replies are important to a thread, you may wish to think twice before replacing your original.
One thought I have is that instead of new threads photos can be uploaded as a new post at the end of a thread. If each is numbered according to the order in which they appear in the original post, it might be OK. But only if the thread is one page in length. I doubt if many will wish to keep moving back and forward between threads.
And yes, FUCK YOU photobucket!

Thanks... Using tinypic.com
That was much easier than photobucket to upload and put on the GB forum

Yes, I suppose that is always a possbility. But it took Photobucket quite a few years to go over full bore to the Dark Side.Gaybutton wrote:Uh oh! I hope they don't pull the same crap.mahjongguy wrote:"TinyPic® owned and operated by Photobucket.com, a free Image and Video Hosting company."
If TinyPic (and any of the other, simpler, less loaded hosting sites) stays the way it is now for as long as Photobucket was 'simple' then I'll be happy.
Cheers ... ( and just one more reason why I love living in Thailand )
