Worried about your phone being stolen?
Re: Worried about your phone being stolen?
I wouldn't trade my 12 year old 800 baht Nokia for anything.
The dam thing has been hauled around in the side pocket of my backpack through a dozen monsoons...bounced off countless bar room floors...has been dropped in the toilet twice (maybe more)...and has never failed me. It's not a cheap phone by any means - it just cost's less.

But, but, but, Dodger... Without Line and Facebook, isn't it pretty much useless in Thailand nowadays?
Re: Worried about your phone being stolen?
I don't see the attraction.
I have a push button Nokia phone purchased about 5 years ago for £10.
It sometimes goes on holiday for when I need a second phone. Even then, it gets very little use, since I buy a Thai data SIM, which goes in the Samsung Galaxy and is essential for phone dating apps, google maps etc.
Now if someone would do a smart phone which can handle those functions quickly, but be so cheap & naff looking that no one would want to steal it, I might be a customer.

Thanks....two posters confirm that I'm not the only one satisfied with a 800 bht Nokia phone from Tuc Com. It has never let me down, unlike the 8000bht phones which P buys and renews every eighteen months.

I have two Nokia 6210 left from 2007 (acquired in 2000 and replaced by a newer phone in 2007). When I come to Germany after 4 months in Thailand, I switch them on and the battery is still full, and then it takes days in stand-by until battery is empty, whereupon I charge it and switch it off for storage.
