Super A Last Night
Super A was a fun place when it was upstairs then they gave up that space and moved to the ground floor and for some reason it lost most of its charm however, last night when I stopped in there was a very handsome guy on the stage, I had him sit with me he said not in not very good english that he was from Nong Khai, after more than a few drinks we overcame our inhibitions or rather his inhibitions.

Were the guys actually dancing? the last three or so times I've been there, they were sitting around in their street clothes.

Some charm I remember from upstairs was going for a pee and soaking my shoes -- the down pipe from the urinal wasn't connected!
Having said that, it was always a lot of sleazy fun.
I understand that recently (last few weeks) a new owner has taken over and the boys are having more fun.
Was this evident on your visit?

It hasn't lost its sleazy charm, the little horrible mamasan is still there though he spends most of the time sitting in the street and if you call 10 or so boys lying over the furnature engrossed with their phones fun then I would say yes they are having more fun.Bangkokian wrote:Charm! -- ha ha.Undaunted wrote:Super A was a fun place when it was upstairs then they gave up that space and moved to the ground floor and for some reason it lost most of its charm

Actually, there are two mama-sans, one of whom is a ladyboy. He's the one who sits outside. The other guy is equally annoying and both are forever asking for tips.
If you decide to off a boy from there , be careful of who you choose.

At any bar, unless it's a mama-san I know and have come to trust, I NEVER off a boy who a mama-san recommends. It's been my experience that the only reason the mama-san recommends particular boys has nothing to do with how 'good' the boy might be. It's almost always a boy who gives the mama-san kickbacks from his tip.a447 wrote:If you decide to off a boy from there , be careful of who you choose.
Most of the time I won't talk to a mama-san at all. I just shoo them away. Works quite well for me.

No dancing whenever I went, but that's no problem, if I wanted dancing, I would go to a ballet. No street clothes either, then I would turn around in the door (and that's the reason why I don't go to nearby Golden Cock).Oliver wrote:Were the guys actually dancing? the last three or so times I've been there, they were sitting around in their street clothes.
I go to Super A a few times per year, staff knows me, and nowadays sometimes boys don't even get off (from sitting and playing with their phones) when I enter, and I have to wait for another customer to come to see them standing. Nonetheless, they have my full support and I spend my hard-earned money rather there than in Soi Twilight, even though choice of boys is limited. But I like prices and attitude.
Re: Super A Last Night
I have never seen dancing. When I have been there there have usually been three boys in street clothes - perhaps one without a top - who sit and ogle at customers. 2 or 3 will sit on stools to the right of the little stage hoping you may be interested and will then slink off when it is obvious you are not. The others sprawl themselves over the couches their eyes locked on their phones. However, when you do have a boy come over, they are almost always happy to play around a bit for a drink. On my last 3 visits, the boys I chatted with have been from Laos. Drinks are far cheaper than the usual go-go bars.Oliver wrote:Were the guys actually dancing? the last three or so times I've been there, they were sitting around in their street clothes.
